Disc Golf Saved in San Francisco

Howdy, The San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department voted unanimously today to expand the existing course in Golden Gate Park to an 18-hole, permanent facility; AND to install an 18-hole, permanent disc golf course in McLaren Park. Re-read that a few times, and give it a chance to sink in. When I first heard it I was, for maybe the second time in my life, stunned speechless. Disc Golf in Golden Gate Park is in Danger

Friends — we have just learned that the Parks Dept. staff will recommend at next week’s Commission hearing that the disc golf course in Golden Gate Park be REMOVED and *maybe* relocated to McLaren Park. at the very southern end of the city. We cannot allow this to happen — we need you all to come to next weeks’s hearing which will take place  Thursday, October 20th at 2pm in City Hall in Room 416. 27th Gold Pan Open

2005 Western States Championships The Host with the Most Bruce Knisley and the Final 9 team brought an all new energy to the 27th Gold Pan Open and returned one of the longest running disc golf tournaments anywhere to its former glory. For his efforts off the golf course, Knisley was rewarded on the golf course with the Western States Open Championship crown. On the charitable front, a total of $750 was for Katrina victims.
